Have you been on the fence about purchasing a new heating and cooling system hoping the air conditioner makes it through the summer? Did your furnace fail at the end of the previous heating season? There are incentives to purchase a new HVAC system this year in Louisville.
2010 is the final year for federal tax credits via the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Clients that purchase qualifying HVAC systems (air conditioners, furnaces, or heat pumps) receive a tax credit of 30% of the first $5000 spent. If you used the tax credit in 2009 for a qualifying purchase, you can take the credit again in 2010 for a new purchase.
Funds are still available through the Kentucky Appliance Rebate program. This money had been completely reserved earlier in the program. However, many consumers allowed the reservations to expire. As of this morning, there is over $100,00o available. You can check here. Qualifying hybrid heat systems are eligible for $700 in rebates.
